Enough is Enough
"I am Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired"
The decision to endanger the lives of students at both Rich Central and Rich South is the most diabolical, insane, colossal, and destructive decision ever made in the history of District 227. Further, the only way to effectively deal with this decision made on the part of the school board and superintendent is to immediately require Board President Cheryl Coleman to step down, and for interim superintendent Doris Langon, Assistant Superintendent of District 227 Operation, Cynthia Hudson, to be immediately terminated.
Anything short of board and administrative accountability for this colossal failure will send the wrong message to the community of the previous board majority regimes of Brunson, Norwood and Owens. Namely, that even a colossally failed decision that threatened the lives of 2800 students, is no basis to hold the school board nor the administration accountable for its actions and dereliction of duty.
The fact that both the school board and the administration continues to bury its collective heads in the sand by publicly and continuing to blame our students for their bad decisions, further shows that both board and administration are co-collaborators in the criminalization of our children in its efforts to save face.
Today, we must reopen a dialogue addressing this tragedy and the fact that Board President Cheryl Coleman has cancelled today's pubic meeting in the eleventh hour to avoid public scrutiny, criticism, and accountability.
