New Rich Township High School District 227 School Board Acting Like Adults Show Details From: ROBERT WAITE To: ROBERT WAITE Attached is an article that appeared in the Southtown today in case you missed it. What you are reading are the actions of a school board that is being lead by people who are acting like adults. Among other things, the new school board is asking for a special audit. All public institutions that handle public money must have the books audited by Certified Public Accountants (CPA). All 227 books have been audited by CPA's in the past, but the CPA issued a "Qualified Audited." This means there have been things the auditors have uncovered in their inspection of transactions that could not be explained, and the school board refused to clear up these questionable transactions in a satisfactory manner. If a U. S. public corporation like AT&T had a "qualified audit" and did not clear up these areas in a reasonable period of time, they would have to go out of business. Nobody would buy stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments of a corporation with a questionable audit. A "Forensic Audit" will go back and take another look at previous years for questionable transactions and would have a balance between all money coming in and all money going out and bring to the attention of the new school board any questionable transactions for further investigation. THIS COULD BE A VERY BIG DEAL! Bob 708-747-4926 Photos: Rich HS 227 School Board.jpg *************************************************************************************************************** |
